Deputy Town Clerk

The Town of Oxford is seeking a highly motivated individual who can multi-task, prioritize, is detail-oriented, and will provide exemplary customer service to fill the full-time opening of Deputy Town Clerk.

This position performs a variety of duties including tax collection, processing of licenses and registrations, elections, and record keeping.  Prior experience in a municipal clerk’s office and experience with TRIO software is preferred, but not required. Job descriptions are available at the Town Office during regular business hours.

SEASONAL LABORER

The Town of Oxford Highway Department is currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Laborer to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of all Town Properties, including but not limited to Ball Fields, Cemeteries, and all public buildings. Lawn Maintenance to include mowing, trimming, clearing brush, etc. 
 
Applicants should have experience with landscaping and other outside maintenance functions.  The successful candidate must have experience with the safe operation of landscaping tools (lawn mower, gardening tools, weed whacker, etc.) and be able to tolerate varying weather conditions.

Summer Rec Counselors

 

 

The Town of Oxford is currently seeking Summer Rec Counselors for our 8-week program starting June 26 thru August 18th. Counselors will be responsible for supervising, organizing games, and activities, and maintaining a safe and fun environment for youth day campers.

This position is Monday thru Friday 7:45-3:45 at Pismo Beach and the Rec Center. Counselors will attend weekly field trips with their groups. Training will be provided for First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, and Town policies.

Help Wanted  

   

The Oxford Fire/Rescue Department is accepting applications for per-diem(s) and paid per-call firefighters and or EMT’s of all levels. The Oxford Fire/Rescue Dept. is a progressive Fire/EMS service located in the western mountains of Maine responding to a sum of 800+ calls per year. Oxford Fire/Rescue has 2 per-diems assigned to the ambulance 24 hours 7 days a week. Additional 2 per-diems assigned to the Firetruck 12 hours 5 days a week. Oxford Fire/Rescue is also seeking paid per-call firefighters and EMT’s. Oxford Fire/rescue is willing to train the right candidates, local candidates preferred, out of area candidates considered. Stop by and chat with the members of the department, we will be happy to answer all questions. 

Preferred skills are not mandatory

  • Maine Licensed EMT, EMT-A, or EMT-P / EMT-P preferred
  • AHA CPR
  • ALS Providers must have ACLS
  • Maine Certified or Pro Board Firefighter 1 and/or II (NFPA 1001 qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Maine Driver’s License
