Patrol Officer

The Town of Oxford is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Patrol Officer. This is a full-time position offering benefits including health, dental, vision, and retirement with the Oxford Police Department.

We are looking for a qualified and professional individual who has prior experience or is interested in starting a career in law enforcement.

Applicants must be a Maine Full-time certified Police Officer (preferred). If not certified, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, passed the MCJA ALERT test, completed the current Reserve Officer Training, and be 21 years of age or 20 years old with at least 60 college credit hours. Must possess a valid Maine driver’s license.

Police Reserve Officers

Oxford Reserve Officers provide a variety of essential duties, complementing the uniformed patrol division by providing part-time coverage of policing concerns throughout the Town including special events and outside job details. The reserve officer position is part-time as needed. Applicants must either hold a minimum part-time reserve certification from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy or the Town will sponsor the right candidate for phases 1 and 2.

Seasonal Highway Department Equipment Operators (Winter)

Accepting applicants for Seasonal Equipment Operators with the Town of Oxford’s Highway Department. Applications are available at the Oxford Town Office or www.oxfordmaine.org.

These temporary positions will be utilized as needed to fight winter storms and conduct general winter operations such as snowplowing and snow removal.

A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required. Background in winter operations, including plowing, sanding, and equipment upkeep/maintenance is ideal. Positions available for drivers with Class B CDL.
