Town Clerk

The services performed in the Town Clerk's office include the issuing of hunting and fishing licenses, the issuing of dog licenses; maintenance of all vital records of the town by registering, filing, and providing copies; the administration of elections; voter registration, and maintenance of voting list; custodian for all official town records;  issuance of most licenses issued by the Town as well as the maintenance of a file of burials for the Town.


WHAT TO BRING WHEN OBTAINING A DOG LICENSE (online click here)
Current rabies certificates and neutering certificates are required. Licensing is due January 31st of each year. Fees are $11.00 for non-neutered and $6.00 for neutered. The penalty fee after January 31st is $25.00 for a late renewal license.


WHAT TO BRING WHEN PURCHASING A HUNTING OR FISHING LICENSE (online click here)
Please bring your previous year's license. Those over 16 purchasing their first adult license must show proof of a hunter safety course.


WHAT TO BRING WHEN OBTAINING A MARRIAGE LICENSE
You must file marriage intentions with the Town Clerk. If you are divorced you must show a certified copy of the current divorce papers or if widow/widower, a certified death certificate(with a raised seal), and you must bring a photo ID with you. The fee for a marriage license is $40.00.


OBTAINING CERTIFIED COPIES (online click here)

Certified copies of the license are available at the municipal office where the intentions were filed.  A fee of $15.00 for the first copy, plus $6.00 for each additional copy is required.

To request certified copies at the Town Office:

Fill out an application (see link to the left) and bring in your driver's license, state ID or passport.


WHAT TO BRING WHEN USING THE NOTARY PUBLIC SERVICE
Please make sure you follow the guidelines if you need to have something notarized:

  • Bring a photo ID with you.
  • Always sign the document in front of the Notary.
  • Try not to leave any blank spaces on the document.
  • Crimping Seals are not required in the State of Maine.
